What this means is that if you are playing alone, there are no bonuses to either drops nor xp. With 2, 4, 6 and 8 players, monster health and damage increases. With 3, 5 or 7 players in the game, loot drop chances increase. Players 8 is a blanket term often used in regards to higher loot drop rates when there are multiple people in the game, but in reality there's two different systems at work.
